2. Counselling for Pupils
Pupils who may have academic or behavioural difficulties may be referred to the Case Management Team (CMT). The team members will work with the pupil and teachers to implement supportive strategies to best support the child. Parental consent will be sought prior to the referral to Educational Psychologist (EP) to take up the case.
3. Personal Responsibility
We hope to instill personal responsibility in our pupils, hence pupils are expected to take responsibility of their own belongings. We seek your support in reinforcing the message and helping our pupils develop into responsible individuals.
4. Library
The library is located on the ground floor. Pupils are encouraged to frequent the library and use the resources. Library activities will also be organised to cultivate the love for reading.
5. Enrichment / Remedial Lessons
Pupils may be identified by their teachers to remain in school for extra lessons after school hours. This will be on a needs-basis. Parents are advised to give their full support by ensuring that their children attend these lessons.
6. Parent’s Support
The school seeks the support of parents in:
- supervising their children’s homework and ensuring that all assignments are completed and submitted on time.
- going through the handbook to acknowledge that all assignments are completed.
- ensuring that their children attend regularly all supplementary /remedial lessons, CCAs and enrichment programmes organised by the school.
7. Insurance Coverage for Pupils
All pupils are provided with insurance coverage. The child is covered for all relevant school and MOE-endorsed activities. Please contact the school if you have queries.
8. School Policies
The school has adopted a ‘No Weekend Homework’ policy for our pupils. The objectives are to allow our pupils to enjoy their weekends with their family and provide space and time for parents to think of innovative ways to teach and engage their children.
Pupil Safety
1. Arrival at school in the morning
For security reasons, pupils who arrive early should wait at the canteen until instructions are provided to inform pupils to move to their respective venues.
2. Visitors to the School
For security reasons, the school seeks the cooperation of parents in the following areas:
- Unauthorised visitors are not allowed into the school.
- Parents / Guardians who wish to see their children or staff members of the school must report to the Security Post to obtain the Visitor Pass first.
- Parents / Guardians are to produce their identity cards for identification purposes.
- Parents / Guardians are to be properly attired when they are in the school premises.
- Parents/ Guardians are to refrain from coming into the school during dismissal time, i.e. 15 minutes before dismissal and 15 minutes after dismissal. This is to assist the school staff in carrying out their duties to ensure the safety of pupils.
- Parents/ Guardians who need to take their child/ward out of school during school hours, due to urgent reason, are to contact the General Office or proceed to the General Office for assistance.
3. Entry / Exit Points
Pupils walking to school are only allowed to use Side Gate 1 (next to the entrance, Gate A). Side Gate 3 will be opened during arrival and dismissal time only.
4. Pupils Travelling in Private Vehicles
Pupils commuting to school in private vehicles will alight at the Drop-off Point inside the school from 7.00 am – 7.30 am (Monday – Friday). Vehicles will exit via Exit Gate B. The automated gates at the school entrance will not be used for vehicular exit at all times.
Parents are advised to move off quickly after alighting their child to reduce traffic congestion. Parking is prohibited in the school premises.
5. Consent Forms
Prior to pupil’s participation in any designated school programmes such as excursions / field trips, it is necessary for the parent/guardian to sign and return the Acknowledgement Slip indicating his/her acknowledgement of the child’s participation in the said activity and to provide the required details. The letter is only valid when it carries the signature of both the teacher-in-charge and parent/guardian.
6. Emergency Evacuation
- As a precaution against fire and other emergencies, regular drills are held.
- The signal for the drill is the continuous ringing of the school siren for at least one minute. During a power failure, a megaphone will be used.
- When the alarm is heard, all pupils are to quickly assemble outside their classrooms in two rows and walk briskly down the nearest staircases to the ISH. If a pupil happens to be in the toilet, he/she should proceed to the ISH by the shortest route as soon as possible.
7. Leaving School Premises
- Pupils are not allowed to leave the school premises without approval from the School Leaders. Disciplinary action will be taken against pupils who leave the school premises without prior permission from the School Leaders.
- Pupils are only permitted to leave the classroom if they have obtained permission from their teacher and has been granted an exit pass.
- Family member / guardian must sign out at the General Office before leaving the school premises with the child.
8. Mobile Phone Policy
- The school does not encourage pupils to bring mobile phones to school.
- Parents who would like their child to carry a mobile phone must take personal responsibility, the school will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the mobile phones.
- Pupils are not allowed to use their mobile phones in school.
- Pupils’ mobile phones may be confiscated as a disciplinary measure and/or for the purpose of investigation if pupils contravened the above rule.
