Pupils who may have academic or behavioural difficulties may be referred to the Case Management Team (CMT). The team members will work with the pupil and teachers to implement supportive strategies to best support the child. Parental consent will be sought prior to the referral to Educational Psychologist (EP) to take up the case.
4. Personal Responsibility
We hope to instill personal responsibility in our students, hence students are expected to take responsibility of their own belongings. We seek your support in reinforcing the message and helping our students develop into responsible individuals.
5. Talent Development and Level Up Programmes
Students who are identified to remain in school for the above-mentioned programmes are required to attend the programmes, unless parental opt out is exercised. Parents are to ensure that their child attends the lessons and have sufficient pocket money to take their lunch.
Pupil Safety
1. Arrival at school in the morning
For safety reasons, pupils who arrive before 7.00am are to wait in the Indoor Sports Hall 1 (ISH 1) until instructions are provided to inform them to move to their respective venues. Students are encouraged to do silent reading while waiting to move to their designated venues.
2. Visitors to the School
For security reasons, the school seeks the cooperation of parents in the following areas:
• Unauthorised visitors are not allowed into the school.
• Parents / Guardians who wish to see their children or staff members of the school must report to the Security Post to obtain the Visitor Pass first.
• Parents / Guardians are to produce their identity cards for identification purposes.
• Parents / Guardians are to be properly attired when they are within the school premises.
• Parents/ Guardians are to refrain from coming into the school during dismissal time, i.e. 15 minutes before dismissal and 15 minutes after dismissal. This will expedite the movement of students into and out of the school making it a safer experience for all.
• Parents/ Guardians who need to take their child/ward out of school during school hours, due to urgent reasons, are to contact the General Office or proceed to the General Office for assistance. An Early Excuse Chit will be issued to your child/ward.
3. Entry / Exit Points
Pupils walking to school are only allowed to use Side Gate 1 (next to the entrance, Gate A). Side Gate 3 will be opened during arrival and dismissal time only.
4. Pupils Travelling in Private Vehicles
Pupils commuting to school in private vehicles will alight at the Drop-off Point inside the school from 7.00 am – 7.30 am (Monday – Friday). Vehicles will exit via Exit Gate B. Parents are advised to move off quickly after alighting their child to reduce traffic congestion. Parking is prohibited in the school premises.
5. Consent Forms
Prior to pupil’s participation in any designated school programmes such as excursions / field trips, it is necessary for the parent/guardian to sign and return the Acknowledgement Slip indicating his/her acknowledgement of the child’s participation in the said activity and to provide the required details. The letter is only valid when it carries the signature of both the teacher-in-charge and parent/guardian.
6. Emergency Evacuation
• As a precaution against fire and other emergencies, regular drills are held.
• The signal for the drill is the continuous ringing of the school siren for at least one minute. During a power failure, a megaphone will be used.
• When the alarm is sounded, all pupils are to quickly assemble outside their classrooms in two rows and walk briskly down the nearest staircases to the ISH. If a pupil happens to be in the toilet, he/she should proceed to the ISH by the shortest route as soon as possible.
7. Leaving School Premises
• Pupils are not allowed to leave the school premises without approval from the School Leaders. Disciplinary action will be taken against pupils who leave the school premises without prior permission from the School Leaders.
• Pupils are only permitted to leave the classroom if they have obtained permission from their teacher and granted an exit pass.
• Family members/ guardians must sign out at the General Office before leaving the school premises with the child.
