Co Curricular Activities (CCA)
Co-Curricular Activities (CCA)
Focus
Participation in CCA emphasizes the inter-connectedness of the core values, social and emotional competencies and civic literacy, global awareness and cross-cultural skills that are crucial for character and citizenship development among ANCHORLITES. Skills they learnt in the formal curriculum will be put into practice during CCA sessions. These experiences would enable students to move along both the perception and processing continuum, from feeling to thinking and watching to doing respectively.
Pedagogical Approaches
CCA provides ANCHORLITES the platforms and opportunities to enhance their personal and interpersonal development as well as their social and civic development through experiential learning.
Programmes
Tier 1 : P3 D-Cube Programme (Discover, Develop, Display)
D-Cube Programme seeks to provide our Primary 3 Anchorlites with a breadth of experience in the areas of Aesthetics, coGnitive and Physical domains to discover their interests and talents. Through the six modules, we strive to develop the core foundation in our pupils through a wide variety of learning areas offered through our AGPS Experience. In addition, the programme seeks to support the development of social emotional competencies while providing a platform for friendships and social integration of students from diverse backgrounds.
Tier 2 : Mass CCA
CCA plays an integral role in the holistic education of students. Through the AGPS Experience, Anchorlites are offered a range of CCAs in the areas of Aesthetics, coGnitive and Physical domains. Through these programmes, Anchorlites engage in the pursuit of recreational CCAs which focus on the development of specific knowledge, skills and values based on the student’s choice of CCA. These CCA platforms offer excellent opportunities for Anchorlites to learn core values, social and emotional competencies and the emerging 21st Century Competencies
Tier 3 : Competitive CCA
Anchorlites who show the interest and ability to participate at a higher level will be able to specialise and commit to CCA- specific training. Individuals who demonstrate the ability and attitude at high performance will be selected to represent the school at Zonal or National competition, SYF Arts Presentation and other external competitions.
