P1 Water Education

Through this Water Education package, students are engaged in learning and understanding the importance of clean water to all living things, including microorganisms. Students carried out three hands-on activities. First, they compare the turbidity (cloudiness of three different sources of waters) by looking at a chart found on the bottom of the cup. Next, they observed the amount of dissolved oxygen by putting in a tablet. Lastly, they used a hand-held microscope to observe microorganisms found in the three waters. After these experiments, they will make a decision as to whether the waters can be recycled or used for other purposes. With this, students can also better understand the importance of water in Singapore and share water conservation tips.
